Big Draws Limit Hold'em
When playing limit hold'em it is common to see a lot of pots that have 6 or 7 callers, this happens all the time at lower limits. When you have 6 or 7 callers draws become very powerful and playing big draws aggressively against multiple opponents can become very profitable.Say you are dealt Ad-6d in late postion just before the button, two players limp in in before the action gets to you ,and you also limp in.Both blinds call so there is a total of 5 players to see the flop ,the flop comes 8d-3d-Qc,right now we are on a draw for the nut flush.
On the flop the small blind bets and the other three players call, what are your options, folding would be wrong you have 9 outs to catch the nut flush with two cards to come. You will make the nut flush about 35 percent of the time, making you a 2:1 dog, with 5 small bets going in the pot pre-flop and five bets going in on the flop you are getting pot odds of 10:1.You could just call and see the turn, but raising in this situation gives you best value and you have postion. You are building the pot and it is likely that all the other players will call your raise.Even players that have second pair or a gutshot straight draw will probably call because they are getting pot odds to make the call. And you are getting 4:1 on your money when you are only a 2:1 underdog which is a clear win for you.
The raise might also work well for you on the turn and river,by raising the other players might check to you on the turn,so this gives you the option of checking and taking a free card if you don't make the flush on the turn.
Now the same hand and you are in early postion if you raise you will probably lose the players with second pair ,and with the draw that you are on you want to build the pot as much as possible so just betting not raising is the best option. You want as maney callers as possible to build the pot.
You can make a lot of money playing draws in low-limit Hold 'em. Just remember that you want as many people contributing to the pot as possible, which means that in different positions, you’ll need to do different things to get the most out of your draws.
