General Experience Playing Here: 3

Sam’s Town has a very serviceable poker room and although it is not on the strip, it is only about a 10 minute drive away and there are several other casinos with poker rooms nearby, so if you are in Vegas for a few days and are looking for a little change of pace, I would recommend that you head out to Sam’s Town and the other nearby casinos and give their poker rooms a try.

Sam’s Town regularly spreads both an Omaha and a 7-card stud game, which you won’t find many places in Vegas.

Competition Rating: 4.5
Aggressiveness Rating: 3
Player Mix: 2.5

Mostly locals and truckers playing here. There were two terrible players on the day that I was there, they seemed to be regulars. I am not sure how they could afford to play there regularly, the way they played but if they do, I can see why everyone else shows up. Other than those two players, the play was pretty tight with everyone waiting to catch a hand against the two weaker players. For the most part I would imagine that the games are pretty tight on a regular basis.

Room Condition: 2.5

The casino is older and the room is older, the tables are ok but the chairs were fairly comfortable. Not much to speak of as far as TVs and the room is a little crowded.

Dealer Rating: 4

The dealers were very experienced and more than competent. They all ran the games very well.

Cocktail Service: 2.5

The cocktail service was a little slow, the waitresses are older than what you would generally find on the strip but were friendly.

Management Rating: 3.5

The management answered all my questions and seemed to control the room pretty well. There were a lot of table change requests and the list was managed well when I was there.

Comps: 2.5

They don’t track play, but a lunch comp is available if you ask for it.
