General Experience Playing Here: 3.5
The Caesars Poker Room is the newest addition to the upper-tier of poker rooms. We think they have a ways to go to match some of the other upper-tier rooms though. The room is big and everything is in excellent shape. They reportedly spent $12 million dollars on the room, but it sure doesn’t feel like it to me. The separate tournament area is nice and will probably appeal to the tournament players. The staff was professional and friendly, but lacks cohesiveness; probably because the room hasn’t been open for long.
It will be interesting to see how the room develops, we will certainly be checking back in the near future to see.
Competition Rating:3.5
Aggressiveness Rating: 3.5 Player Mix: 4
Played $1/$2 No Limit, the table was a pretty good mix of aggressive and non-aggressive players. Usually raised pre-flop, costing $10-$20 to see a flop, with 4-6 players usually seeing a flop. Quite a bit of money at the table, so not a lot of all-in moves but a fair amount of $50-$100 bets after the flop.
There were several $1/$2 no limit games going on at the time, plus a couple of $2/$5 games. Probably a half dozen limit games going also ranging from $3/$6 to $10/$20.
Room Condition: 4.5
There are 30 tables in the live game area (there is also a separate tournament area that has 30 tables). The room is secluded in a separate room next to the Sportsbook, it can be difficult to find, if you aren’t specifically looking for it. The good news about the location is that you don’t have any noise distractions from the main casino, the bad news is that the casual player who might throw some money around can’t easily wander into the poker room by accident.
There is a computerized list system so you can easily find out what games are available and how long the wait lists might be. Not sure, if paging system works throughout the casino or not. There is not a good place to wait for a seat in the poker room itself.
The tables are brand new and the chairs are extremely comfortable, there are quite a few TVs in the room, but because of its extreme size a lot of the tables aren’t close to TVs.
Dealer Rating: 3.5
The dealers were good but not quite up to my expectations (We figured the dealers would be top notch, since they were all recently hired and the goal was to have the room be the best of the best). The dealers were personable for the most part and ran the game pretty well, but they did make some mistakes.
Cocktail Service: 4
The cocktail service was good. There were at least two waitresses who were assigned exclusively to the room and most everyone seemed to get their drinks when they needed them.
Management Rating: 3
Didn’t have any real interaction with management, but there seemed to be plenty on staff and We didn’t notice any seats being empty for any length of time.
Comps: 3.0 $1 for every hour played.
No comps that we were aware of.
