Detailed Editor's Review Ratings Below:
Overall Experience Playing Here 4: For all the downfalls this room had with the poor Management, Cocktail Waitresses, and dingy Room quality, etc. and this room had a lot….The characters this room had were great! From the Locals to The Guests who came through the Poker Room, each had a story to tell. You didn’t get a lot of people with airs but more the regular normal class person and each with a story to tell and everyone would listen.

A Dealer told the story I will always remember about a man who had a heart attach at the table and fell back off his seat right to the floor. They stopped the game for 5 minutes so the man could be attended to. Then the game started up again like nothing happened. The Room later found out that the man had died on the way to the hospital.

If the wall in that room could talk, there would be thousands more stories told in this room over the years.

By the end of the night you became part of the room and you left a story that the room would always remember.

When we go to Las Vegas, we will always stop and play at least one night at the Circus Circus…

Soft Competition: 3.5 Aggressiveness: 2

Player Mix: 3

A lot of locals play here so they seem knowledgeable. Not the greatest players at Circus Circus, but they know the game.

It is quite easy to get a read on the players at the table. From the Locals, to the guests from out of town, the best game was the $3-6 Limit late at night.

There was lots of raising and at least 7 people seeing each Flop, so when you won a hand it would be a very big pot. Another good game was $3-6 Limit early afternoon. There wasn’t a lot of raising and there were smaller pots, but you could get a good feel for the table.

All games had only one blind.

Room Condition: 1

Circus Circus’ Poker Room is one of the older poker rooms in Vegas. You’ll find the room to the immediate left as soon as you enter through Circus Circus’ main casino doors.

The tables are old and worn, and the chips are just as worn looking; they look like they’ve been well used and have been around for years.

The tables are quite close together, which gives you a feeling of crampness. The general overall impression of the room is dingy, old, and dirty. But as you read further in our review, this doesn’t necessarily make a bad poker room…

Dealer Performance: 2

The Dealers were very friendly and talked to everyone.

However, too much talking led to not enough controlling the game. The hands took too long to play and the Dealers would make mistakes. Quite often they weren’t paying attention to the game or they weren’t reading the hands correctly.

Cocktail Service: 2.5

The Cocktail Waitresses came around often, so it was easy to get a drink.

But during our play session there though, they weren’t very friendly. It almost seemed as if they had been working around Vegas too long and now were not very professional.

Management Rating: 1.5Once again, another area lacking in professionalism. Management would serve or help someone if they looked like they needed to be attended to. Otherwise, they would just sit around. They also seemed like they had been working in Vegas too long.
